Bantam Silkie Chickens
I raise several colors of silkie chickens. These fluffy little bantams have nice calm
temperaments and are easy to catch and handle (maybe because they can't see
you coming!). I've selected my silkies for super tall heads (see the chick pics
below), which make for wonderful "pom poms".
I also have some silkie / cochin crosses - these are bantams as well but lay a very
nice sized egg and are good brooders. The third pic below is of a frizzle silkie /
cochin rooster. He and his hen live with (and on) the Nigerian does.
